05 Sep Submissions for Pan Pacific Community hub now open
The development of our Pan Pacific community hub is well underway. The land designation change for Hinemoa Park to enable our Pan Pacific Community Hub project is now out for public consultation. The consultation closes at 5pm on 30 September 2019. Please support our project by making a submission in favour of changing the designation from recreation reserve to local purpose (community facility) reserve.
Last month Hamilton City Council voted to adopt the master plan for the west town green belt. This is significant because the master plan contains the Pan Pacific Community Hub at Hinemoa Park. They also voted unanimously to progress changing the designation of the land which will enable the project to proceed.
Rachel Karalus Chief Executive of K’aute Pasifika Trust said “We’re thrilled that the council are still here by our side supporting our vision of a place for all community to identify with and learn about pacific culture, language, food and traditions; a place to welcome our pacific visitors into the region; a place to celebrate and promote pacific art; a place filled with activity and music; a place of healing and learning and a place from which all people from all walks of life can be supported.”
