Bula!
I am Tevita, and I come from the beautiful islands of Fiji, specifically from the villages of Somosomo in Taveuni (on my father's side) and Kulukulu in Sigatoka (on my mother's side). I work as a Physician Assistant at K'aute Pasifika Trust, serving the community Monday through Friday.
The heart and soul of my journey have been shaped by the inspiration of my parents, Angeline and Ratu Sakiusa, and my grandmother, Anna Steele Mohammed. They always found time to help others, and their unwavering dedication and belief in God have been my guiding light. They are my role models, and through their example, I pursued my dream of becoming the first doctor in our family.
What I enjoy most about my work is seeing the smile on my patients' faces, feeling the warmth of their hearts, and equipping them with the knowledge they need to make informed decisions about their health.
I have a passion for adventures and new experiences. I travelled halfway around the world to Cuba in Central America, where I graduated with an Honours Medical Degree.
One thing that makes me unique, I believe, is my ability to easily connect with people.
When I need to unwind, I love taking a long walk by the beach, listening to the sound of the waves crashing while soaking in the last rays of the sun.
The one piece of health advice I would like to share is: "We are what we eat."
My go-to comfort food is a hearty bowl of Fiji-style beef stew or curry chicken.
A fun fact that not many people know about me is that I love watching Lord of the Rings or Harry Potter—probably around 100 times!
Outside of medicine, I am also passionate about fishing.
Vinaka!
