Cervical Screening Checks

Regular cervical screening can prevent cervical cancer. It is a test that looks for abnormal changes to the cells of the neck of your uterus (cervix). This is so treatment can be given before the abnormal cells develop into cancer.

Who can access

Women aged between 25-69 who have ever been sexually active should have regular smear tests.

  • see a registered nurse who will carry out the Cervical Screening check
  • have regular cervical screening to keep your cervix healthy
  • detect abnormal cell changes early before anything more serious develops
